Parole

If you are serving a sentence of imprisonment your access to helpful resources is heavily restricted and it can be difficult to present a persuasive case to the Parole Board as to why you should be released.

If instructed privately or by a grant of legal aid, Philip Hamlin’s office can assist with your Parole Board case in the following ways:

a

Meet with you by video link or in person to discuss your case and give you advice;

b

Liaise with your case manager at the prison regarding your sentence plan or any other issues that may arise;

c

Arrange for psychological assessments (either privately or through legal aid) if appropriate;

d

Contact your support people and keep them up to date with any developments in your case;

e

Make applications for early hearings when your recommended programmes have been completed;

f

File written submissions on your behalf in support of release on parole, attaching relevant and helpful information for the Board to consider;

g

After release, continue to support you at special conditions hearings or monitoring hearings if required.

  • Application for parole (first or subsequent)

  • Section 26 application for parole

  • Application to vary extended supervision order (ESO) conditions
